Ā Ivory Mystery Snail

Ivory Mystery Snails are peaceful, eye-catching freshwater snails known for their smooth, ivory shells and curious personalities. As natural scavengers, they help keep aquariums clean by eating leftover food, algae, and decaying plant matter—making them both beautiful and useful.

These snails are safe for live plants and are completely peaceful, making them ideal for community and planted tanks. Their slow, gliding movements and fascinating behavior add a calming presence and unique aesthetic to any setup.

Common Names: Ivory Mystery Snail
Size: Grows up to 2 inches (5 cm)
Color: Ivory shell with a dark body
Lifespan: 1–2 years with proper care
Tank Size: Minimum 5 gallons per snail
Temperature: 68–82°F (20–28°C)
Temperament: Peaceful, solitary, active scavenger
Diet: Omnivorous; algae, uneaten fish food, blanched veggies, and calcium-rich wafers

Care Tips:

• Ensure calcium is available in the diet and water to support healthy shell growth
• Keep the water line slightly below the top of the tank—snails may climb to lay eggs
• Provide a secure lid, as Mystery Snails are known escape artists
• Avoid housing with aggressive fish or those that may nip at their antennae
• Perform regular water changes—snails are sensitive to ammonia and poor water quality

Ideal For:

• Community and planted aquariums
• Aquarists looking for a natural cleanup crew
• Hobbyists wanting a peaceful, colorful invertebrate

Add an Ivory Mystery Snail to your tank and enjoy its gentle cleaning habits, curious nature, and the unique beauty of its Ivory shell!

Fish Quarantine Process

At 10 Gallon Fish Tanks, we take the health of our fish seriously. Every fish we bring in undergoes a strict 2-4 week quarantine process to ensure they are free of parasites, fungal infections, and bacterial diseases before being introduced to our main tanks.

During this quarantine period, fish are treated with the ā€œMed Trioā€ as needed:

• Paracleanse – Targets internal & External parasites like worms and protozoans. Things like fish lice, tapeworms, hole in the head, skin and gill flukes.

• Ich-X – Treats external parasites and fungus. Treats Ich and white spot disease.

• Maracyn – An antibiotic that combats bacterial infections, preventing issues like fin rot, skin redness, open wounds, swollen eyes etc.

This quarantine protocol ensures that every fish we sell are healthy, acclimated to Tennessee water, and ready to thrive in their new home.

Water Parameters for Healthy Fish

To help you achieve the best results when acclimating your new fish, we’ve included a photo showing the exact water parameters we maintain in our tanks. These values are carefully monitored and kept stable, ensuring that each fish grows and thrives in a healthy, natural environment.

By following these parameters at home, you can provide the smoothest transition possible for your fish, helping them settle in quickly and comfortably. We’re dedicated to setting you up for success with your new fish, and sharing these details is part of our commitment to their health and your enjoyment.
