AQUA REALMS™ Official Rulebook – Version 1.4
1. Game Overview
Aqua Realms is a 1 vs 1 strategy card game where players build aquarium ecosystems using fish,
shrimp, plants, coral, tank equipment, and Tank Heroes. The goal is to stabilize your aquarium while
reducing your opponent’s Water Parameters to 0 and causing an ammonia spike.
Win Condition
A player wins when their opponent’s Water Parameters reach 0. Water Parameters start at 20 and
cannot exceed 20 unless a card states otherwise.
2. Setup
• Shuffle decks
• Set Water Parameters to 20
• Draw 5 cards
• Start with 2 Energy
• Decide first player
• First player skips draw on Turn 1
3. Energy Rules
• Start with 2 Energy
• Gain +2 Energy per turn
• Energy carries over
• Maximum Energy is 10
• Energy is spent when playing creatures
4. Card Types
Creature Cards
Creatures represent aquatic animals and Tank Heroes.
Care Cost – Energy to play
ATK – Damage dealt
HP – Health
SPD – Combat order
Tank Heroes
• Only 1 per deck
• Only 1 in play
• Follow creature rules
Plant / Coral Cards (Ecosystem)
• Cost 0 Energy unless stated
• Only 1 Plant/Coral may be played per turn
• Maximum 3 in play
• Must discard one if replacing
• Cannot increase Water Parameters above 20 unless stated
Tank Boost Cards
• Cost 0 Energy unless stated
• Only 1 Tank Boost may be played per turn
• Maximum 2 in play
• Remain in play unless removed
Event Cards
• No cost unless stated
• May play any number per turn
• Resolve immediately then discard
5. Turn Structure
Draw → Energy → Play → Combat → End
Draw Phase
Draw 1 card. First player skips Turn 1. If deck is empty skip draw.
Play Phase
Players may:
• Play creatures (pay energy)
• Play 1 Plant/Coral (free)
• Play 1 Tank Boost (free)
• Play Event cards
Board Limits:
• 3 Creatures
• 3 Ecosystem cards
• 2 Tank Boosts
Combat Phase
Each creature may attack once per turn.
Creatures may attack creatures or Water Parameters.
Creatures cannot attack the turn they are played.
Players may choose not to attack.
Creatures do not block attacks.
Speed Rule
Higher SPD attacks first. If defender is destroyed it does not counterattack. Equal SPD results in
simultaneous damage.
Damage Rules
Damage remains until healed. Creatures do not heal naturally.
Healing Rules
Healing removes damage from a Creature.
Creatures cannot be healed above their original printed HP unless a card specifically states their
maximum HP increases.
If a creature is at full HP, additional healing has no effect.
Creature Destruction
At 0 HP the creature is destroyed. All effects from that creature are removed and it is placed in the
discard pile.
Hand Rules
• Start with 5 cards
• Draw 1 per turn
• No minimum hand size
• Maximum 7 cards
